The functional Executive Committee (NEC) of NDC yesterday dismissed with anger the appointments made by the Northern Regional Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila last week. A letter dated 23rd October 2018 and signed by the Director of Administration Emmanual A. Zumakpeh on behalf of the General Secretary described the appointments a violation of the procedure in co-opting members to various executive committees.
The letter reminded the Chairman of an earlier letter dated 5th September directing all Regional Chairmen to strictly adhere to that procedure before any appointments.
The letter indicated that the appointments cannot be accepted as a true reflection of the entire Regional Executives position because it did not indicate the criteria used to select those members and a brief justification for the choice of each member.
The letter further condemned the Regional Chairman for not indicating the authorities consulted before that appointment. The NEC also queried the Chairman for not attaching minutes of the meeting held together with attendance list of the participants.
It would be recalled that on the 14th of October, 2018 the Northern Regional Chairman signed a letter appointing the various individual to committees. Those appointments were seriously challenged by the Regional Secretary and the Regional Communication Officer. They described the appointments as unilateral and violates the procedure for co-opting members into various committees. This accusation was immediately countered by the Regional Chairman in various Radio Stations in Tamale.
This letter is confirming the rumor that the Regional Chairman and some of his key Executives have serious disagreements over the management of the party in the region.
